Now that we have talked about some of the dangers of driving while you are on your cell phone, let’s go ahead and discuss a few things that can help you keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel.

Firstly – turning your cell phone off while you are driving is something that will eliminate the distraction right away.  Not only will you not be tempted to call or text, but you will be able to concentrate on operating your car instead of spelling words right or holding a conversation.

Driving is not something that is easy – honestly, I find it hard sometimes, especially when the weather is bad.  Why would you want to put yourself at risk like that just for a phone call?  So people – really, hang up and drive!

Driving while you are distracted is certainly something that can cause all sorts of accidents.  Do you want to know the number one thing that is distracting while you are driving?  Cell phones.  Cell phones are something that has their place and time and it should not be while you are trying.  Anything that really takes your eyes or ears off of the road should be put away, as that can put you at risk.

Many teenagers nowadays actually end up texting while they are driving and that boggles my mind.  Not only are you taking your hands off of the wheel but you are taking your eyes off of the road as well and isn’t that part of driving?  While in this day and age – people are glued to their cell phones; there are ways around the distracting part of it.

First, you should invest in a hand-free speaker set for your car if you do feel the need to talk on your cell phones, that way you can pay attention to the road.
